Established in 1977, Symetal S.A. produces aluminium foil (from 6 to 200 mic) and aluminium flexi-packaging materials. The Company is highly export-oriented with over 90% of its sales carried out into more than 60 countries in Europe, the Middle East, Africa, the Far East, America and Australia. Symetal S.A. is a member of Elval Group, the major constituent of Viohalco’s aluminium manufacturing, processing, and marketing segment. Viohalco S.A. (VIO) is a Belgium-based holding company of leading metal processing companies across Europe.
Symetal S.A. has two production facilities – the rolling plant situated at Oinofyta – 60km north of Athens – and the converting plant situated at Mandra – 25 km west of Athens. The rolling plant is dedicated to the production of plain aluminium foil in a wide range of thicknesses and alloys. The plant has an annual capacity of 50,000 tons and its aluminium foil products are used in various applications such as flexible packaging, pharma, semi-rigid containers, technical and household use. The converting plant has an annual capacity of 24.000 tons and focuses on the conversion of aluminium foil into a number of packaging applications for the tobacco, food and pharmaceutical industries.
